New Bern, NC . African American Heritage Trail Walk

A group met at Broad and Queen Streets, Five Points


The walk was hosted by the Carolina Nature Coalition and cosponsored by the Craven County NAACP Branch.

A group of history lovers, walked through African American history and heritage in New Bern, North Carolina on a hot day in August.


Starting at Five Points, once the bustling center for Black businesses, the walk went through parts of Duffyfield and Dryborough with stops at the new signage along the African American Heritage Trail.


Those who attended learned some interesting cultural, community, and even personal, history along the way.
