Jordan B. Hughes, P.E., Director of Water Resources for the City of New Bern addresses where the City of New Bern gets its drinking water and how the local water supply is managed.


In this presentation, Jordan provides an overview of the City's water treatment process, including the steps taken to provide safe, reliable drinking water. He will discuss emerging contaminants, including PFAS and PFOA, and how they may impact drinking water systems, as well as ongoing efforts by the City to maintain water quality, protect public health, and plan for future regulatory requirements.


Mr. Hughes has more than 20 years of experience working with the City of New Bern's Water Resources Department, where his work has focused on water and sewer utility operations. He has been involved in supporting the safe, reliable delivery of drinking water and wastewater services for the New Bern Community.
