About The Event
Craven County Ranger, Greg Riggs, from the NC Forest Service, will be speaking on site and giving us an overview of the forests in Craven County. Specifically, there a will be focus regarding prescribed fire in the forest.
Prescribed fire is a forest management tool used to maintain the health of the forest ecosystem. He will explain the process and discuss the difference between good fire and bad fire.
YES....this is a summertime field trip to view a burn site. Stay tune for date, time and location in July.
The Carolina Nature Coalition is a volunteer community organization based in New Bern, North Carolina, whose mission is to raise public awareness of environmental issues and engage citizens in meaningful community action.
